1. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

1.1 Personal Information We Collect and Use When You Use TRITON GOTO Products or Services

1.1.1 Information We Collect

Location Information (Location Permission)

To provide astronomy observation and imaging features, this App needs to access your geographic location data for device calibration, celestial object positioning, and astronomical event prediction. We do not continuously collect your location in the background; we collect it only when you actively use relevant features.

  • Type of information: geographic location information obtained through device GPS, Wi-Fi, mobile network, or similar methods.
  • Purpose of use: to control astronomy equipment, locate celestial objects, recommend suitable observation targets based on your current location, and help you quickly tag shooting locations.
  • Storage method: used only for real-time calculation and stored locally on your device only; it is not uploaded to our servers.

Device Connection Information (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi)

To connect and control astronomy equipment, we may obtain information related to device connections.

  • Type of information: Bluetooth device information and network connection information.
  • Purpose of use: to establish connections with astronomy equipment and perform data communication.
  • Storage method: used only for device connection and stored locally on your device only; it is not uploaded to our servers.

1.1.2 During your use of our products or services, we collect and use personal information only for the business functions described in this Policy. The purpose of collection is to provide products or services, ensure normal operation of app functions and device connectivity, and continuously improve user experience. This App does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not use your personal information for advertising, marketing, or profiling. You may choose whether to provide relevant personal information, but in many cases, if you do not provide it, we may be unable to provide corresponding services or functions.

1.1.3 Your authorization for us to use the above personal information continues during your use of the services. When you stop using our products or services, we will stop using and delete the above personal information, subject to applicable law.

1.1.4 To better operate and improve our technology and services, or due to changes in business strategy, where collection, use, or processing of personal information required by products or services exceeds the above scope, or where collected personal information will be used for purposes not specified in this Policy, or where information collected for a specific purpose will be used for another purpose, we will notify you within a reasonable period after collection or before processing, and obtain your consent where required by applicable law.

1.2 Explanation of App Permission Requests and Usage

1.2.1 To provide complete astronomy observation and device control services, certain features rely on system permissions. You may enable or disable corresponding permissions as needed. Refusal to grant authorization will not affect your use of basic app functions, but related additional functions may be unavailable. You may view permission status in your device settings.

1.2.2 Please note that enabling any permission means you authorize us to collect and use relevant personal information to provide the corresponding service. If you disable any permission, it means you withdraw that authorization; we will no longer collect or use relevant personal information based on that permission and will be unable to continue providing the corresponding service. Your decision to disable permissions does not affect prior collection and use based on your earlier authorization.

1.3 Exceptions to Prior Consent

Please understand that under applicable laws, regulations, and standards, we may collect and use your personal information without your prior consent in the following circumstances:

1.3.1 where directly related to national security or national defense security;

1.3.10 where necessary for statistical or academic research carried out by academic research institutions in the public interest, and where personal information contained in published research or descriptive results is de-identified.

2.4.6 information collected from lawfully publicly disclosed sources, such as lawful news reports or government disclosures.

3. How We Protect Your Personal Information

3.1 We have implemented security measures aligned with industry standards to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, damage, or loss. For example, through system permission controls and data minimization principles, we ensure relevant information is used only to the extent necessary to provide functions.

3.2 We collect only necessary information related to the functions of this App and use such information for the shortest period necessary to achieve relevant purposes. We do not conduct unrelated information collection.

3.3 As the internet is not absolutely secure, we recommend that you avoid transmitting personal information through insecure channels (such as unencrypted email or instant messaging tools).

3.4 To help protect your information security, please properly safeguard your device and related data to prevent unauthorized access by others.

3.5 We will use reasonable efforts to protect information security, but please understand that under current technological conditions, uncontrollable risks may still exist.

3.6 In the event of a personal information security incident, we will, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, promptly inform you of the incident, possible impacts, and measures taken or to be taken, and adopt reasonable measures to mitigate risks.

4. Your Rights

In accordance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and common practices in relevant jurisdictions, we protect your rights to exercise the following rights over your personal information:

4.1 Access to Your Personal Information

4.1.1 You have the right to access your personal information, except as otherwise provided by applicable laws and regulations. If you wish to exercise your right of access, you may access relevant information through the corresponding pages in the TRITON GOTO app.

You may contact us at support@tritongoto.cn at any time, and we will respond to your correction request within 15 business days (or within any shorter period required by applicable law).

4.3 Deletion of Your Personal Information

You may request deletion of your personal information under the following circumstances:

4.3.1 if our processing of personal information violates applicable laws or regulations;

4.3.2 if we collect or use your personal information without obtaining required consent;

4.3.3 if our processing of personal information violates our agreement with you;

4.3.5 if we no longer provide products or services to you.

4.4 Changing the Scope of Your Consent

Each business function requires certain basic personal information to operate (see Section 1 of this Policy). You may grant or withdraw your consent for collection and use of personal information at any time.

4.4.1 After you withdraw consent, we will stop processing corresponding personal information. Please also note that withdrawal of consent may have consequences, such as our inability to continue providing corresponding services or specific functions. However, your decision to withdraw consent does not affect personal information processing previously carried out based on your prior authorization.

4.5 Rights Relating to Automated Decision-Making

In certain business functions, we may make decisions based solely on non-human automated decision-making mechanisms, including information systems and algorithms. If such decisions significantly affect your legitimate rights and interests, you have the right to request an explanation.

4.6 Response to Your Requests

To protect security, you may need to provide a written request or otherwise prove your identity. We may first verify your identity before processing your request. We will respond within 15 business days (or within any shorter period required by applicable law).

5. How We Process Children's Personal Information

5.1 We attach great importance to the protection of children's personal information. Our products, websites, and services are primarily intended for adults. Without parental or guardian consent, children should not use this App. Although the definition of a child may vary by local law and custom, we treat anyone under 14 years old as a child (or the higher protection threshold required by applicable law).

5.2 For children's personal information collected with parental or guardian consent, we will store, use, or publicly disclose such information only where permitted by law, expressly consented to by a parent or guardian, or necessary to protect the child. Otherwise, we will endeavor to delete relevant data as soon as possible.

5.3 Due to limitations of current technology and business models, it may be difficult for us to proactively identify children's personal information. If you discover that we have collected a child's personal information without knowledge or without verifiable prior guardian consent, you may contact us promptly. We will endeavor to delete such information in a timely manner upon discovery. If we discover such circumstances ourselves, we will also delete the relevant information promptly, except where retention is required by applicable law.

6. How Your Personal Information Is Stored and Transferred Globally

6.1 Storage Method

6.1.1 Personal information we collect is primarily stored locally on your device, including location information and device connection information. This information is used only to implement core app functions (such as astronomical calculations and device control) and is not uploaded to our servers.

6.1.2 Related data obtained over networks (such as weather information, stargazing index, or light-pollution data) is used only for real-time feature display. We do not store your personal information on servers or retain it long-term.

6.2 Retention Period

We use relevant information only for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy. As most data is used for real-time calculation and stored locally on your device, once you stop using related features or uninstall the App, we will no longer process such data.

6.3 Cross-Border Transfer

At present, this App does not involve transferring your personal information to overseas servers. If future business development requires cross-border transfer of personal information, we will do so strictly in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, after obtaining your explicit consent where required, and ensure your personal information receives a level of protection not lower than that required by applicable data protection laws.

7. How This Policy Is Updated

7.1 This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Without your explicit consent, we will not reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy where such consent is required by applicable law. We will post any changes to this Policy on this page.

7.2 For material changes, we will also provide more prominent notice. Material changes under this Policy include, but are not limited to:
